Chanasa Malawi, with help from Chifundo UK, has obtained and successfully completed some large orders of Custom and Bespoke Products. For each order discussions and meetings were held to finalise the product(s), materials, costs and means of shipping. Below are examples of the orders that have been completed. New products can be designed and existing products can be adapted. Products can be customised with printed or embroidered logos. Fabric with a particular printed logo or design can also be sourced. The Irish Embassy in Lilongwe, Malawi ordered 150 custom tote bags plus matching face coverings from us in March 2021. The products were to be given out by the embassy in celebration of St. Patrick's Day on 17 March. The tote bags were made with an orange and green chitenje (African printed cotton fabric) lined with green and with a green front pocket printed with Ireland and the Irish symbol. The face coverings were had three layers with the outer layer embroidered in white with Ireland and the Irish harp symbol. There were taken by coach from Blantyre and delivered in person to the embassy in Lilongwe.
1,300 lined tote bags were completed for a European African Conference at the University of Edinburgh. The bags were made from Arican chitenje mainly in orange and green colourways. The bags were 35 cm by 37 cm, had two shoulder straps, a front pocket printed with the Conference logo and were lined with black cotton. They were air freighted from Blantyre to Heathrow and then by courier to Edinburgh.
100 padded reversible messenger bags made from recycled denim jeans and decoraged with chitenje, 100 purses made from denim lined and decorated with chitenje and 100 shopping bags made from with a front zip pocket. Each item has either a sewn or metal Glasgow University Crest attached to it and the colours in the chitenje compliment the colours in the crest.
A large number of seat covers, ties, bow ties, scarves, servittes and other items were commisionned by the College of Medicine in Blantyre for their 25th Anniversary. These were made from specially printed chitenje made for the occasion. Click/tap here for more information.
